Abigail Cleaves Murthy is a RYT 500 hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor (RYT 300, E-RYT 200); she received her initial training from Liz Schulman and Richard Villela at Living Yoga, and completed her RYT 500 with Ohra Yoga, studying under Michelle Briks, Dana Slamp, Lara Heimann, and Lori McAlister among others. Throughout the past decade, Abigail has maintained an active yoga practice and has taught in New York, Connecticut, and wherever her mat takes her around the world. An avid swimmer, hiker, and general lover of movement, Abigail finds yoga to be the perfect companion to other sports and physical pursuits, as well as calming and centering to the subtle body.
Cultivating strength, flexibility, balance, and breath, her classes focus on establishing and training a deeper connection between mind, body, and soul. Abigail's intelligently-designed, imaginative sequences blend dynamic functional movements with traditional asana to inspire a joyful and positive practice. With upbeat music, seasoned hands-on assists, and playful, accessible classes, Abigail hopes to instill the transformative power of yoga, encouraging her students to bring the practice off their mats, out into their lives and to the world beyond.
Abigail teaches all levels of vinyasa, hot vinyasa, pre/post-natal yoga, and restorative yoga; she is available for private and semi-private instruction, small group sessions, and retreats.
