We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but we don't all know that the third Friday every October is National Mammography Day! This Friday, we're sharing some important facts about mammograms and mammography. Mammograms are a crucial part of breast cancer prevention - routine, yearly mammograms can help women stay empowered and educated.

Since 1989, the American Cancer Society has shown that breast cancer death rates are down 39%. This is attributed to improvements in treatments and early detection by mammograms. In fact, the National Cancer Institute states that mammography is the only available screening method shown to reduce breast cancer mortality.

Despite the knowledge about how mammograms can help reduce breast cancer deaths, many women are still afraid to get a mammogram. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the best way to beat those unhealthy fears is to have an action plan. Read below for theirs!
