This class introduces the basics of yoga's breath, movement and meditation. Specifically, instruction and application of 3 basic breathing techniques, (called pranayama) for relaxing, invigorating and purifying body and mind.
Students will learn how to care for their spine with simple, safe postures, and how to refresh a tired spine combining breath and movement. Each class ends with an easy to follow 2-3 minute meditation to quiet the busy mind and create peace within. The goal of these classes is to facilitate an experience of yoga that demonstrates how its practice can improve one's experience of living in body and mind with greater ease and improved health.
