This February, we're celebrating American Heart Health month with heart healthy recipes each week. This berry smoothie combines a few different heart-favorites. Berries are rich in antioxidants, which can help prevent oxidative stress and inflammation that can lead to heart disease. Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fats, which have been linked to lowered cholesterol and reduced risk of heart disease. A bonus - this smoothie includes Living Juice's organic, cold-pressed Red Radiance - filled with heart healthy strawberries and beets!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup organic berries (organic strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or raspberries)
- 1/4 organic avocado (pitted)
- 2 cups fresh, organic spinach
- 1/2 organic banana
- 8 oz organic, cold-pressed Living Juice Red Radiance (roughly 1 cup)
Recipe:
- Using blender combine all ingredients. Make sure to use enough juice or add water if smoothie is too thick.
- If you prefer your smoothie chilled, add ice cubes! Feel free to add tbsps of flax seeds or chia seeds to your smoothie!
