This February, we're celebrating American Heart Health month with heart healthy recipes each week. This berry smoothie combines a few different heart-favorites. Berries are rich in antioxidants, which can help prevent oxidative stress and inflammation that can lead to heart disease. Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fats, which have been linked to lowered cholesterol and reduced risk of heart disease. A bonus - this smoothie includes Living Juice's organic, cold-pressed Red Radiance - filled with heart healthy strawberries and beets!
1 cup organic berries (organic strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or raspberries)
1/4 organic avocado (pitted)
2 cups fresh, organic spinach
1/2 organic banana
8 oz organic, cold-pressed Living Juice Red Radiance (roughly 1 cup)
1. Using blender combine all ingredients. Make sure to use enough juice or add water if smoothie is too thick.
2. If you prefer your smoothie chilled, add ice cubes! Feel free to add tbsps of flax seeds or chia seeds to your smoothie!
